Current status, future plans, and some art previews!


Hello everyone!

It's been a long time since the last update, so I hope this post will help explain what's been happening lately - and put any worries to rest ;).

Earlier this February I was involved in a car accident. I was released from the hospital on Friday, and even though I'm not in any sort of a critical condition, my ability to move and create has been severely limited - for now. I'm expected to make a full recovery in a few months, and while I will need to get one more minor surgery, it's safe to say that I'm out of the woods.

Unfortunately, this means that the the progress on Threesome's The Charm has slowed down a lot, and will continue to move at a snail pace for a little bit longer. But, the project is far from dead! Quite the opposite! I have had many painkiller-induced revelations and mountains of ideas for fantastically sexy yet nonsensical scenarios. So now that I'm back home, I will continue writing for the game as much as I can, and then as soon as I'm able to I'll jump right into illustrating and programming the whole thing. 

And that's not all!

Since this game is going to be seriously CG-heavy (I mean like SERIOUSLY seriously, we're talking 400+ artworks here), the amazing Neko Rulz has offered me her help with Denny's route! His sweet character will truly shine now! Just take a look at this little sneak-peek of a bigger CG she has created for the game (it's cropped quite a bit, because I don't dare unleash its full awesomeness right now):


If you'd like to see more of her art, here is her instagram. She will also help me with the game's presentation, as she's an experienced graphic designer. She has even already proposed a new logo for the game! What do you think?


As for what I've been doing - don't worry, I've actually managed to do quite a bit before all this chaos started! It's not put together well enough yet for me to release it as a public update, but these are some of the things you have to look forward to:

1. The beginning is rewritten so that you don't have to listen to that whole spiel about how fridges work or what a duplex is. Gary will still do an introduction so that he can get that out of his system, but the pacing should be a bit better now.

2. I have re-made most of the backgrounds so that they look better, and also created new ones. Here's a little preview of the main character's room:


This is what the room will look like right after the main character moves in. Depending on if you decided to play as Andrew, Denny, or Radim, the room will change and fill up with personal items as the game progresses, so that at the end you'll end up with a room that truly fits your character.

3. Instead of 30 days, Gary will offer the main character a two week trial period. This will not reduce the content - on the contrary! Each day will be filled to the brim with both optional and mandatory events, so that you get to explore your new living situation the way you want it. This will make the experience even more customized to your tastes, and offers more replayability if you feel like seeing all the ridiculous stuff the characters can get up to if you make different choices.

4. I have also managed to finish 15 more CGs before my injury, and while I don't want to give away too much, here's another little preview of Andrew being Andrew:


And also one of Radim coming up with an excellent idea: (but you'll have to wait to see where that leads to later ;D.)


So yes, don't worry! The game is still very much alive, and while it may take longer to finish it than I initially thought, I'm feeling really optimistic about the future!

I hope you get well soon! I can tell this will be my favorite game! I can wait for more and thank you for continuing this big project! You kick ass!
